Benishangul Human Rights Foundation

Historically, Benishangul was an integral pan of Sudan till 1898, a map that is available in the British Museum, the Archives house in Sudan and the Archives House in Egypt support this historical fact. After 1898, the Ethiopians occupied this region with out the will of it’s citizen, from the British for 25 years in order to utilize the gold mines that were found there in abundance, since then our people in Benishangul are under the Ethiopian atrocities up to now, a total of 124 years of occupation, ethnic cleansing and systematic racism.
